IXL Math Practice
This website is one in which students can go to for extra practice. This website has a section for each grade level and subcategories with different things that students learn in that grade level. For fifth grade, the subcategories are place value and number sense, geometry, decimals, addition and subtraction, add and subtract decimals, multiplication, multiply decimals, division, division with decimals, problem solving, number theory, fractions, add and subtract fractions, multiply fractions, divide fractions, mixed operations, algebra, coordinate graphs, data and graphs, patterns and sequences, consumer math, ratios, proportions, and percents, measurement, time, and probability and statistics.
I chose this website because it is a good supplemental resource to use with lessons. It is extremely easy to navigate because the headings make it extremely organized and the side column gives each grade level with a colored tab. This website is good because it gives them a quiz so that they can test their knowledge but it can also be a game based on their scores. This website is great because if you get the answer incorrect then it either gives you the opportunity to try again to get it correct or it shows you how to do it correctly.
I will use this website in my classroom to supplement the lesson and review for a test or quiz. I can tell them which ones they should do and then they can use it to help them study. I can also use the website as a tool to get the students engaged. I would have the students screenshot their page after a given number of questions and then I would give the person with the highest score an incentive for getting the highest score.
